Teaching adults and children, from complete beginners to members who want to train seriously. A fight record is welcome but it is not the qualification we care most about. The skill that matters is being able to teach a nervous beginner their first jab without making them feel stupid.
Our children's classes are about coordination, discipline, confidence and fitness. There is no hard contact. Patience and the ability to hold a room of seven-year-olds matter far more than a fight record here. If you have taught children anything — sport, music, school — that experience counts.
Front desk, social media, physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, or a discipline we do not teach yet. If you can make this place better and you can explain how in three sentences, write to us. We would rather read an unsolicited message from someone with an idea than another generic CV.
The gym is small. What is behind it is not. Motion Strong Studio was founded by Gen Matsuda, president of abc Inc., a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. That company announced a joint venture with Terence Crawford, appointed Ryan Garcia as its PR strategy ambassador, and has been a title sponsor of RIZIN, Japan's largest MMA promotion. Every one of those claims links to a published source on the founder page.
What that means for a coach working here, in practice: this is a gym owned by people who take combat sports seriously at the professional level. Not a fitness chain that added a bag rack. Ideas about the sport get heard here, because the person who owns the place is building the sport somewhere else too.
What it does not mean: we are not going to promise you a path to coaching world champions. That would be a lie, and this whole website is built on not telling those. What we can promise is that you will be taken seriously, paid on time, and not asked to pretend.
