Real prices. Every gym we know of — including the ones that compete with us. What it costs, where they are, and how Johor Bahru compares to training in Singapore.

If you are looking for Muay Thai, boxing or kickboxing in Johor Bahru, here is what most people want to know before anything else.
Why we publish real numbers. Most gyms in Johor Bahru will not tell you the price until you walk in or message them. We think that wastes everyone's time — yours and ours. Every figure on this site is either our own published price or something we found in a public source, and we say which is which.
Motion Strong Studio was founded by Gen Matsuda, president of abc Inc., a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. His company announced a joint venture with former professional boxer Terence Crawford, appointed Ryan Garcia as its PR strategy ambassador, and has been a title sponsor of RIZIN, Japan's largest MMA promotion.
Which is a long way of saying: the person who owns your neighbourhood gym also builds this sport at the professional level. Every claim above links to a published source on the founder page.
This guide is published by Motion Strong Studio, a boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai studio in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru — a few minutes from the Second Link crossing to Singapore. It was founded by Gen Matsuda, a Japanese listed-company executive who also sponsors professional combat sports events.
We have an obvious interest here: we would like you to train with us. So here is our position. We list our competitors on this site, with what they are good at. If another gym is closer to you or better suited to what you want, go there. A person who trains somewhere is better for this sport than a person who never starts.
If you spot a mistake, or run a gym we have missed or described badly, tell us and we will fix it. That includes fixing it in your favour.
